Manual therapy includes hands-on and instrument-assisted techniques used to address selected muscles, fascia, tendons, and other soft tissues. At Reborn Chiropractic & Wellness Center, manual therapy may be used alongside chiropractic care, rehabilitation, decompression, or shockwave therapy.

 

What Manual Therapy May Include

 

Depending on the condition, treatment may involve:

  • Myofascial techniques

  • Trigger-point pressure

  • Soft-tissue mobilization

  • Instrument-assisted treatment

  • Stretching

  • Joint mobilization

  • Movement-based manual techniques

Why Manual Therapy Is Used

 

Soft-tissue irritation and restricted movement may contribute to:

  • Muscle tightness

  • Local tenderness

  • Reduced flexibility

  • Pain with movement

  • Compensation around an injured area

  • Difficulty returning to normal activity

Manual therapy is intended to support movement and reduce sensitivity. It is not used to forcefully “break up” all scar tissue or guarantee permanent pain relief.

There may be overlap, but clinical manual therapy is directed toward specific examination findings and treatment goals.

 

Will treatment leave bruising?

Some instrument-assisted techniques may temporarily cause redness or mild bruising. Force is adjusted according to the patient.

 

Is manual therapy enough by itself?
